Five photos. That's enough to tell a complete story, create nostalgia, and leave someone speechless. But choosing the right five from an album of hundreds? That takes a method.
The 5-photo method
Instead of choosing the most beautiful photos, pick one from each of these categories:
- ✓The origin photo — the oldest one you have together
- ✓The spontaneous photo — that crooked selfie that turned out great
- ✓The milestone photo — a trip, graduation, or major change
- ✓The everyday photo — a Sunday brunch, a morning coffee
- ✓The current photo — the most recent, showing where you are now
Does photo quality matter?
Less than you think. A photo from 2012 taken on an old phone can be far more powerful than a professional photo from yesterday. What matters is what it represents.
“The photo that makes someone cry is rarely the sharpest one. It's the most real one.”
💡 Tip
If you have a physical photo digitized with a phone scanner, use it. The analog texture adds an extra layer of emotion.
